Introduction

Adam was selected to run the 200 metres for Team GB at the 2016 Rio Olympics where he finished 4th, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal.  He registered the same time as Christophe Lemaitre, but in a photo finish the Frenchman was awarded 3rd place by just three thousandths of a second.  In Rio he was also part of the 4x100m relay team who finished 5th.  In 2017 he was part of the gold medal winning 4x100m team at the IAAF World Championships in London, running leg 2 in the final.

Over the 200m distance at the 2013 Athletics World Championships, Adam ran a time of 19.98, making him only the second British athlete after John Regis, the third teenager, and the ninth European athlete to break 20 seconds in the event.   Then, in 2015, after running a time of 9.97 over 100 metres, Adam became the first ever British athlete to have broken both the 20 seconds mark at 200 metres and 10 seconds at 100 metres.
