Summer is here and it’s the perfect time to have some fun, try something new and enjoy being outdoors.

Why not give your favourite Olympic sport a go? Or you could be adventurous with something a bit more unusual. Our A-Z pages have the perfect activity for everyone, try taking our quiz and find your perfect match.

Strawberries and Cream

Nothing says summer like the green grass, strawberries and cream and rain delays of Wimbledon, if you love cheering on Andy Murray and Jo Konta then why not give tennis a try yourself?

The Great British Tennis Weekend offers you free opportunities to play all over Kent. The main nationally supported weekend will be held 16-17 July but there are plenty more events going on all summer. Participating venues will provide rackets and balls and there will be activities for everyone including Cardio Tennis, Mini Tennis, tennis coaching or just casual “turn up and play” sessions. Visit the website to find your nearest open day.

Fun on Two Wheels

If you’d rather explore your area on two wheels then look for a guided Sky Ride near you. In partnership with British Cycling and Sky, Kent County Council has scheduled a series of bike rides across the County.

You’ll be looked after by a British Cycling trained Ride Leader who will guide you along a scenic planned route and the rides will be pitched at three different levels. Whether you’re looking for fun, fitness and a chance to build your confidence on a bike or you are an experienced rider there will be something for you.

Summer Fun

There will be plenty more events going on across the summer, from big days organised by National Governing Bodies to local clubs offering taster sessions. Keep an eye on our website and social media and we’ll keep you updated with what is going on across Kent. Summer’s the time to get outdoors and active, what are you waiting for?
