THE WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE AND WHY OF KENT’S CAMPAIGN FOR THE 2012 GAMES

THE 'WHERE' OF KENT'S CAMPAIGN

TransportThe Kent Coordinating Group for the 2012 Games covers the whole of the county of Kent, including Medway. The Group has adopted a thematic rather than a geographical approach. There are some occasions where the work necessarily demands a geographical focus, for example Ebbsfleet being the Olympic/Paralympic Park’s Park and Rail site, but on the whole we have looked to concentrate our efforts thematically:

1st item of 9 Arts
2nd item of 9 Communications and media
3rd item of 9 Economic Development and Regeneration
4th item of 9 Schools and Young People
5th item of 9 Skills and Training
6th item of 9 Sport
7th item of 9 Tourism
8th item of 9 Transport
9th item of 9 Volunteering

We very much hope that local partners such as a voluntary group, or a college, or a sports club, are inspired to use the 'magic dust' of the Games to achieve very local priorities, but have deliberately designed the framework of Kent’s approach to the Games, as laid out in our Strategy, to support countywide benefit from 2012.
